Goalkeeping has changed a great deal in recent years. A goalkeeper doesn't only have to worry about catching or saving balls anymore - he/she is expected to actively be part of setting up play. The modern goalkeeper is, in a way, a sort of sweeper who should be able to organize the defense and then, when they are in possession, quickly turn defense into offence.
